An ROP official said that the accidents between January 16 and 22 numbered 101, leading to the death of eight people and injuring 129.

The most serious accident during this period took place in the wilayat of Adam in the Dakhliyah region, when a man driving a vehicle on the Thumrait-Nizwa road was surprised by a number of camels crossing the road.

The driver was unable to control the vehicle due to his speed and crashed into two camels, which led to his immediate death. The ROP calls upon all motorists to exercise caution while driving and be on the lookout for stray animals.
